Good News- For Yahoo! Mail Users
By Rosli Abidin Yahya
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Good news for locals who use Yahoo! Mail. It has
announced plans to upgrade the storage capacity for its free users
worldwide to one gigabyte (1 GB).
According to its media alert received
by users, the global roll-out will begin late next month, making
Yahoo! Mail the largest e-mail provider to deliver I GB of storage
space for free to consumers worldwide.
At the moment, only Gmail of GoogleTM
offers I GB of free storage space to users worldwide.
"Beginning next month, users can
enjoy 1 GB of storage for free and take comfort in the fact that
Yahoo!
Mail continues to protect the privacy
and security of their inboxes," said Reza Behnam, managing director of
Yahoo! Singapore and Southeast Asia through a media alert.
Yahoo! Mail also announced that it
has expanded its powerful suite of security tools with virus cleaning
for free, from Norton AntiVirusTM, in addition to the virus scanning
already offered.
The 1 GB storage upgrade represents
an increase of more than four times the 250 megabytes (MB) of space
that Yahoo! Mail users currently enjoy for free.
Yahoo! Mail also offers integration
with services relevant to e-mail users, including Yahoo! Search,
Yahoo! Messenger, My Yahoo! and Yahoo! Photos. --
