Students In Limelight At Extravaganza

Bandar Seri Begawan - Student performers were again in the limelight as thousands watched with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam the performances featured in the `Malam Serumpun Seri 60'.

Among the young performers was 15year-old Form 3 student from PDS School Joran Shim Yih Siang. He revealed that he was nervous before the show even though he and his friends had practiced for a month for their performance called - 'Chinese Drums' which involved 24 participants.

Another excited performer was 16-yearold Mohd Ali Asmad from Muda Hashim Secondary School who said that their dance was based on modern and traditional routines.

He added that this was the 3`d time he has performed in the `Malam Serumpun'.

He said that his participation was his way to show his affection for the monarch. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
