Dominic wins Open title at
Motorcross Challenge

Dato Awg Hj Adanan presents a trophy to Mohd Zainulhisyam,
winner in the Minicross category at the
Brunei Darussalam Motorcross Challenge. - Alex How
Frank Dominic of Malaysia won the
Motorcross Open title, at the 2006 Brunei Darussalam Motorcross
Challenge, which took place at the Sungai Besar, Tutong Circuit/Track
open area yesterday, and took home the $1,500 cash prize.
Local contenders Hj Idzam Norhaidi Hj
Mashud and Hj Jamil Hj Abd Karim came in second and third
respectively. For their efforts, Hj Idzam Norhaidi won a cash prize of
$1,000, while Hj Jamil bagged $750.
In the Scrambler category, Brunei's
Yusuf Mail beat off the challenge from other riders to claim the top
prize. Meanwhile, Garry Anderson of New Zealand and Andrew Pimblott of
England finished in second and third places.
Dominic won another title, in the 125
Expert race, pushing Hj Idzam Norhaidi and Abd Rahman Hj Harith of
Brunei into the minor prizes. James Paw Kiew Wei from Miri, Malaysia
claimed the 125 Novice category win, followed by Mamat Barahan
(Brunei) and Mohd Zainulhisyam Muhd Saruji (Miri) in second and third
places respectively.
Azhar
Hanib of Limbang, Malaysia won the Cupcross event, with fellow
Malaysians Arbin Tujoh (Sarawak) and Supri Sirat (Miri) following in
second and third spots. 16-year-old Mohd Zainulhisyam claimed victory
in the Minicross, pushing Hasman Hj Mohd Kasim (Brunei) and Hj Idzam
Norhaidi into second and third.
On hand to present prizes to the
winners was the Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj
Adanan.
