By Rol Ezam

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 22-year-old man from Mainland-China was sentenced to six months imprisonment by the Bandar Magistrate's Court Thursday after he pleaded guilty to possessing one forged Malaysian passport.

LinYanjin from Fujian Shenprovince was stopped by Royal Brunei Airlines staff at the Brunei International Airport check-in counter after suspecting the defendant's passport is fake.

The court heard the defendant was about to leave Brunei Darussalam on July 18 for London by using the passport under the name of Teo Siong Heng.

The Immigration Prosecutor said the defendant bought the passport for RM900 from one agent who offered it to him in Malaysia.

The defendant entered the country through the Sungai Tujoh Immigration Control Post from Miri, Sarawak on the same day he was arrested by RBA personnel. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
